James Bauer
Founder & Principal Consultant
James brings more than 25 years of technology, operations, and cybersecurity leadership across healthcare, nonprofit and regulated housing, retail, and professional services.
He starts by understanding your mission, how the organization operates and earns revenue or receives funding, and what customers and employees need. He translates that understanding into IT priorities, practical roadmaps, and decisions that balance value, cost, performance, and risk.
As a player-coach, he listens, builds trust, mentors teams, and sets clear expectations. He encourages people to raise concerns and contribute ideas, delegates with accountability, and communicates clearly with employees, peers, executives, and boards.
His work spans business systems, infrastructure, cloud and hybrid platforms, IT operations, cybersecurity, and automation. He stays hands-on through design, integration, implementation, and complex incidents. When specialist expertise is needed, he coordinates it with clear roles and responsibilities and remains the senior point of contact.
He helps manage budgets and supplier relationships, compares total costs and expected benefits, and tracks results. He examines the underlying work before recommending technology, balancing innovation with dependable service, security, and resilience.

Locations near the edge of the service area, including western Suffolk County, NY, and southern Litchfield County, CT, are considered by arrangement. Travel time varies with traffic and the exact address.
